Why Choose Lachute Aviation?

In a field as competitive as aviation, choosing the best flying school can prove difficult; especially given the wide range of financial and professional consequences. Lachute aviation offers the personal, individual touch yet also the professional quality of a world class team.

Friendly Yet Professional Training

Lachute Aviation wants to disprove the assertion that professionalism is mutually exclusive with and friendliness. Indeed, our students praise us on getting the pace and atmosphere correct. Our staff is aware that learning to fly demands sacrifice and dedication, thus they're there for you at each step of your training. Moreover, there is lodging near the airport rented by the month, allowing you to learn to fly at your own pace; properly, as a fixed end date to your training is impractical.

Our Instructors

The school offers a variety of programs which make it possible to quench your thirst for aeronautical knowledge. Be it for a Leisure permit or a Professional Licence accompanied by a Multi-Engine rating and IFR rating, the school can adapt to your needs so that you can benefit from training which will enable you to evolve/move in the world of aviation. Our experienced personnel will train you for present and future requirements of employers and ensures you'll be equipped with all the important tools for your career. Moreover, the quality and the maintenance of our aircraft are our top priority. Maintenance is carried out by our own aircraft maintenance engineers (AME) accredited by Transport Canada, right at the school for maximum aircraft security and availability.

Our Fleet and Training Tools

We have all the necessary tools to give you the highest level of training. Our Twin Commanche is equipped with a DME, VOR, ILS, ADF, a 3-axis autopilot by STEC, a lightning detector as well as GPS Garmin 430. GPS WAAS on the aircraft makes it possible to make precision approaches when ILS is unavailable. Moreover, our airport allows takeoffs without delay unlike other, more crowded airports - as idling on the apron waiting for your turn can get expensive. The airport has its IFR approach procedure, and is just 5 minutes away from Mirabel. Also, we practise IFR flight under real (IMC) conditions so that you can be more prepared for actual inclement weather flight. Lachute Aviation, located at the foot of the Laurentians, is recognized for its dynamic and open teaching approach. We invite you to peruse the rest of our site or simply call us. You can be assured that your aviation wants and needs will be our absolute priority.
